Super interesting to see how they show an onboarding without a paywall, because I feel that this is usually what most experts currently recommend. What I definitely struggle with is to put the sign up so much later because it's so much easier to subscribe to a paid version of the app when you are signed up already. Thank you as always for the great input, I really appreciate it.
My pleasure! And thanks for dropping in with a comment :) That was definitely one of my favorite takeaways as well, I'd love to put that to practice and see the results.
Not for that, always a pleasure to read your thoughts and content. When your newsletter pops up I know that I a) have to block some time right now or b) mark the mail as unread because I definitely want to read it. ;-)
Is there any good tool you use to AB test stuff like that or are you relying on analytics data?
That's so awesome to hear 🙏 Re. A/B testing and analytics, do you mean for my posts? If so, I don't believe there is a way to AB test on Substack, and the analytics/stats we get are still pretty thin in terms of reading engagement. Would love to see more data insights within substack around how people are reading.
This is a fascinating piece. After using Duolingo (20 day streak 😇) I can see the relevance behind the article. Thanks for sharing, great listen.
Thank you so much! Super glad you enjoyed it. Yea they have an absolutely incredible product.

Nah I was talking about AB testing inside the app itself because you wrote that you'd love to put that to practice and see results.
Aah, gotcha. Yea we use Amplitude Experiment for stuff like this. Works great because we use their other products, like Data and Audiences.
Duolingo is always going to exist. They will teach math to school children. Meet me in 10 years…. We’ll be right back
Good analysis at all, immerse in reading it. Actually i am a big fan of Duolingo, put widget on my phone's screen so that I can't miss day streak
